Symposium reminder

TO ALL INTERESTED IN THE MINE PROBLEM

  Third International Symposium on Technology and the Mine Problem,
		Monterey, CA, USA April 6-9, 1998

Time is running out to register for the April Symposium. Please see
the MINWARA Homepage at <www.minwara.org> for details and electronic
registration. Also by March 8 I hope to have the detailed schedule of
sessions and speakers on the web.

This promises to be a world-class event. There are over 120 technical
papers plus a number of papers and remarks by senior personages and
research sponsors.

My concern is that late registrants may have trouble finding
accommodations in Monterey in early April. Rooms are blocked for now
at the Monterey Hyatt Regency that is just across the highway from the 
Symposium site. There is no parking at the Naval Postgraduate School.
